How to Prepare for your tattoo
Eat, Hydrate & Sleep:
-Eat full meal and drink water. Don't overly drink caffeine beforehand. Get a full nights sleep.
-Consequence: Food and proper sleep creates energy for your body. If you do not eat or rest well, your body will not have enough energy to get tattooed and heal. Your pain tolerance will be lower and you can have the risk of passing out.
Wear comfortable clothing:
-You have the chance to stain your clothing while getting tattooed. Please wear comfy clothing that can get dirty.
-Consequence: Tattooing is a Medical Procedure that comes with the territory of working with Blood Borne Pathogens. Please note that Rae will take extra steps to make sure your session is FDA approved and comes to terms with the health department, however not wearing the correct clothing as a client can make this job harder and more challenging for the tattoo artist.
Bring personal items:
-Our booth will provide snacks and water, however you may bring your own items such as headphones, book, blanket or gaming device.
-Consequence: The convention can be very loud and overstimulating, not bringing headphones can induce extra anxiety and stress to your body for the appointment.
Set aside more time than you think:
-Do not rush the tattoo artist. Rae makes sure each client has a tattoo that sticks and does not rely on touch ups. When rushed, it can give Rae extra stress.... remember you are not the only client. If you have an event or panel, our team can do our best to move your spot. However do NOT rush Rae to finish a tattoo in time.
-Consequence: Each tattoo session can vary in time, some may take longer than others. Your tattoo may take hours while your friends may take minutes. Not setting enough time in your schedule can delay LarpLikeRae's schedule.
Bring Identification:
-Bring government official Identification. This can be drivers ID, Passport, military ID or birth certificate.
-Consequence: You will not be able to get tattooed.
Process of your tattoo session
Paperwork:
When your session is about to start and the person before you is finishing up their session, the LarpLikeRae team will text you 10 minutes before your name is called. Once you arrive, the handlers will take your ID and scan it with your paperwork. Fill out the paperwork completely and hand it back (take your ID back).
Stenciling:
Rae will go over the process of stenciling the tattoo. You are allowed to move the stencil AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT!!! Do not be afraid, it's okay to move it! Once Rae has placed it to your liking, you get to check it out in the mirror and then get comfortable for your session.
Tattooing:
We cannot give you a time frame of how long the tattoo will take. It all depends on the size, placement and design. If you have any questions, comments or concerns at any time please stop and communicate to Rae.
Finishing:
Once finished, Rae will have you stand up and look in the mirror as well as taking photos. Afterwards they will go over the aftercare instructions and how to heal the tattoo. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!! Do not ignore Rae during this time. We offer aftercare products and kits at check out.
Check Out:
We take card, cash and Apple Pay. Tipping is appreciated! You can purchase other products at this time such as aftercare kits and merchandise.

Waiting: you can text our booth number to find out what number in line you are OR you can check out our booth where we will have a waiting list to see when you are next via tv screen. Please eat while you wait, take care of your body.
Next in line: the LarpLikeRae team will complete your paperwork, please bring a valid government approved ID. (Drivers license, passport, military ID).
Getting tattooed: please be respectful during your session. Don't be afraid to ask questions! We provide water and goodies if needed during your session!
Finished: When you are finished, Rae will go over the aftercare instructions. We offer aftercare bundle packs for healing you can buy at check out. Next the LarpLikeRae Team will review your purchases and take payment. We accept Apple Pay, card or cash. Please feel free to tip, we worked extremely hard this year to make this as assessable as possible for everyone!

How many tattoos am I allowed to get?
2 tattoos per person!
What is the sizing for the tattoos?
- Extra small - (1 inch)
- Small - (2 inch)
- Medium - (3 inch)
- Large - (palm sized)
What are the placement rules on tattoos?
ONLY: Arms, Legs, neck, hands, CLEAN feet and hips.
NO: Torso, back, head, palms, genitals, face, ears.
What are the prices?
Pricing is from $30 to $300 depending on size and design. Each design will have a price listed with it.
Can I customize a design?
Yes and No...
Yes: You can customize colors you want for the tattoo.
No: You may NOT add or take away from the design. It adds more time for us and slows down the process.
What aftercare do you provide?
We provide Normal Healing and Second Skin aftercares for our tattoos. We highly suggest not using other methods as they can be dangerous in the healing process.
When you are finished, Rae will go over the aftercare instructions. We offer aftercare bundle packs for healing you can buy at check out.
What must I bring/prepare?
Prepare:
- Eat and hydrate beforehand. Food gives you energy to fight off the pain, no food=no pain tolerance
- Wear a comfortable outfit. You may get blood borne pathogens on your clothing, please understand that pigment does not wash out easily.
- Bring ID. Government Approved Identification includes: Drivers License, Birth Certificate, Military ID or Passport. NO PHOTOS OF ID'S!!!
- Do not shave beforehand. You can knick yourself where we will tattoo. We will shave you anyways.
- Get enough rest. Not sleeping well during a tattoo session can limit your body with the procedure.
- Comfort Plushie (not required).... Maybe it is. Helps with pain and focus during session.
